Description
Some garments become so iconic as to defy trend, so permanently tied to the zeitgeist that they become part of the vocabulary of clothing.
The history of the brushed Shetland, from hand knit jumpers of the northern most islands of Britain, to the wasp-iest of haberdashers dressing the preppy elite, it is a garment that has been adopted and subverted for decades.
Woven from Shetland yarn and brushed to a fuzzy, shaggy volume, it has an almost accidental whimsy - it’s soft and cosy to be warm and robust. Soft focus saturation that can make the inkiest shade approachable.
For us a brushed Shetland with its saddle shoulder and close sitting crew neck, is as applicable worn like a tee as it is a layering piece over Oxford cloth, as its shorter length allows. And knowing how well it tempers the most saturated of colours, we have lemon zest yellow, rosebud pink, cream and pecan to make the greyest of winter days a little more hopeful.
