Description
Functional elements in a garment are often the most aesthetically pleasing, even when their function is largely forgotten. While epaulets no longer need hold a braid or a rifle strap secure, they still define a shoulder and add an air of purpose to a garment.
Based on a 1950’s Army Officers shirt, our officer shirt, in cotton drill, linen or wool takes the dress shirt away from service to the suit and tie, and adds notes of safaris and campaigns.
A collar lacking a collar stand allows the shirt front to fall more like a lapel, accompanied by oversized flap pockets, giving it enough formality to feel justified without a jacket.
Worn open over a vest and denims, or tucked into high-waisted Gurkha shorts, it is a garment intentionally functional.
