Studio Session #4
with Ben Phillips
If you're familiar with our small corner industry, then Ben Phillips needs no introduction. From his days on Savile Row to his work with Roger Gracie, Ben has been a valued friend of the brand since its earliest days. It felt only natural then to invite him to take part in our Studio Styling Session's, offering his perspective on how he chooses to wear Bryceland's - mixing in new pieces of the collection with some of the more well worn items in his possession.

The Blanket Lined Chore in Denim is that necesaary piece to have close to hand when the weather can't seem to make up it's mind. Simply thrown over a well loved hooded sweatshirt and plush Japanese Corduroy Army Chinos, the combination is given a refined finish by the use of black suede loafers.

Despite the bold check pattern, the Mk II Wool Anorak is a deceptively easy piece to throw on. A relaxed, unfussy silhouette that slips seamlessly into the everyday wardrobe, with this example being denim and canvas sneakers, for looks that feel effortless. A considered garment that requires no real thought at all.

An excellent example of how truly elegant workwear can be in the right hands. Here Ben displays how our Ecru Chore Coat can used as a stand in for the standard sports coat. Worn atop a fully buttoned up Denim Sawtooth and paired with matching 133 jeans, the interplay of light and dark tones highlights the thoughtful balance of the rich textures.

The power of a simple white button up shirt cannot be overstated. Whether worn alone or peeking through the neck of a Shawl Collar Pullover, its useful knows no bounds. A pair of Black Moleskin Double Knees strips things back even further demonstating that restraint is sometimes all that's needed.

'Swiz' were an American Hardcore Punk band originating from Washington D.C. who made quickly made their mark on the scene between 1987 and 1990. Their influence lives on here in the wardrobe of a true fan and makes for a subtle statement alongside our Ecru Sweatpants. Slip into a pair, all reservations are immediately put to rest. Ideal for days when all that's asked for is a short errand, they offer an unrivalled level of comfort without the sacrifice of character.

There is a fine line that can be struck, when travelling between destinations, between ease and elegant. Neither need be sacrficied. The Cabana Shirt is easygoing and lightweight, ideal for journeys to and from warmer climes with its boxier silhoutte lending itself easily to layering if need be. Once again, our Sweatpants challenge any hesitation. When worn with a pair of simple loafers they can easily pass for a classic trouser. If only they knew.
