Description
There are some wardrobe staples so ubiquitous that they are constantly reimagined, redecorated and re-cut so as to lose their fundamental quality. The chino, at its essence, is a classically cut trouser, made for hard wear and extended use.
The beauty of the classic ’45 US Army chino is its proportions. Cut high without a separate waistband, a full hip and gentle taper, it eschews fashion in favour of classicism. Paired with a navy sports coat it is all orthodoxy and correctness, but is just as appropriate for a white tee on Sunday afternoon. A generous opening at the cuff allows for a work boot as comfortably as a penny loafer, and when turned up over a sneaker it has the ease it needs to feel comfortable and relaxed.
Some things just don’t need improvement.
